Sorbonne University Creates Foundation to Connect Alumni

Dating back to the medieval University of Paris in mid-12th century, Sorbonne University was a result of the division of the College de la Sorbonne into 13 autonomous universities. As a public and research-based university, it strives to give students a quality education and numerous opportunities to contribute to society. Of its more than 55,000 students, the multidisciplinary Sorbonne University also has about 4,500 doctoral students.
To keep alumni connected, Sorbonne University leaders developed the Sorbonne University Foundation in 2009. This foundation has established chapters located in major cities where alumni live. This allows alumni to network with one another and to engage in activities pertaining to the university.
